Areas of consulting / problem-solving methods I (10 days)
In this module students are introduced to the various functional areas of specialisation in management consulting as well as the derived standardised and non-standardised methods of problem solving (consulting products) in as far as these are relevant to general management consulting. At the same time the students are instructed in the process of assessing the intrinsic value of new consulting concepts and identifying potential application fields in the specific consulting context. Practical implementation is demonstrated and discussed within the framework of the following subjects: strategy consulting, mergers and acquisitions, organisational & business diagnosis; business plan development, HR consulting, change management and knowledge management. A part of this module is held in the Winter School in Lincoln (UK). This ensures practical relevance in working on living cases with the distinctive features and specific characteristics of intercultural cooperation within and between companies.

Areas of consulting / problem-solving methods II (10 days)
In this module the students are introduced to the different functional specialisations in management consulting as well as the resultant standardised and non-standardised problem-solving methods (consulting products) in as far as these are relevant to general management consulting. This includes above all: restructuring consulting, business process reengineering and cost reduction consulting, logistics and value chain consulting, IT as well as e-business consulting, entrepreneurship and organisational behaviour. Recent approaches in management consulting are also investigated. The students are instructed in how to analyse new consulting concepts for their intrinsic value as well as how to identify the possible fields of application in the specific consulting context.
